These workshops are open to students of yoga wishing to explore the finer points of practice. Each workshop is $30 and you can attend any or all that interest you. We meet in the Momentum Dance Studio across from Yoga Bhoga.
Meditation, Ujjayi, & Breath with Asana
April 21st / Saturday 1 – 4pm / Sarah Trelease
Learn the basic philosophy and techniques of meditation. From there we move to ujjayi pranayama and explore it’s role in asana and movement.
Pranayama Technique & Practice
May 5th / Saturday 1 – 4pm / Meghan Maris
We discuss the theory of pranayama and its place within a Hatha Yoga practice. Learn and practice some of the different techniques of breathe control to deepen or establish a pranayama practice.
Teaching Basics

Learn how to assess, sequence, and teach yoga to new students. We discuss how to select, modify, and cue asana postures for beginners.
Open Up to Backbends
June 2nd / Saturday 1 – 4pm / Emily Light
When you understand how to articulate the spine with awareness, backbends are filled with spaciousness and ease. Detailed instructions include modifications, demonstrations, and personal hands-on adjustments.
Teaching Open Level Classes

One of the great challenges faced by yoga teachers is how to teach an open level class to students of varying abilities and backgrounds. Learn techniques to assess, select, and cue poses in a mixed level class.
Mastering Inversions and Arm Balances

Inversions and arm balances challenge our strength, balance, and flexibility all at the same time. We discuss the fundamental techniques and practice some of the common (and not so common) poses.
Working Safely In Shoulderstand and Headstand

These poses are known as the king and queen of the asanas and for good reason. But with great power comes great responsibility. Learn how to practice and teach these poses safely and responsibly.
