This time of year is known across many cultures as a period when the veil between the living and the dead is at its thinnest. We may feel the presence of our deceased loved ones particularly when we offer prayers or rituals in their honour. Come celebrate all those who have gone before with this special class.
In Chinese medicine, Autumn is viewed as the start of the Yin season as it brings the onset of descending metal chi (energy). During this in-depth Yin practice, we will use specific poses to target the meridians and organs governed by metal (lungs and large intestine) and learn how this energy effects the body and mind. We will conclude with a guided meditation to help us release our fears of letting go and open to a deep state of inner peace.
Chaturanga Dandasana is a popular pose that eludes many students. Without proper alignment, overtime Chaturanga Danadasana can lead to bodily injuries. Done correctly Chaturanga Dandasana strengthens your entire body, builds concentration and prepares you for inversions. In this workshop we will break down chaturanga dandasana, learn to effectively “do a vinyasa,” and strengthen your understanding of this foundational posture.
