Mat Classes

Mat classes are first come first serve, pre-registration encouraged. Classes included are Yoga, meditation, pilates mat, roll-out and live streaming (great for when you’re traveling.)

Equipment classes require pre-registration with a maximum attendance of 6 students. Reformers and CoreAlign provide both resistance and assistance to help you feel connected to your body and the movement in new ways.

Whether it is diving deeper into how the philosophy of yoga can be incorporated into your life or an hour of precise movement curated for your specific needs, There is no better value than a private session.

The Practice Space?

What to expect for
your first visit

  • Prepare for your first visit by registering for a MindBody Online Account. Once you register and create a profile for our studio, your first visit and future regitrations will be seamless.

  • We suggest that you arrive around 10 minutes early so that we can give you a proper welcome, and so you can complete your student waiver & speak with the teacher about any special requests or expectations you may have.

    Now, sometimes life happens. If you are late, enter the space quietly and join the class, trying to minimize disruption. Take a few warm-up movements, and then enter the teacher's sequence when you are ready.

  • Just you. It can be nice to have a water bottle and your own mat for Yoga or Pilates mat classes, but there are always free mats available and a wide variety of props, including blocks, straps, rings, and more.

  • Whatever you wear should allow a full range of movement, including twisting and bending. So think comfortable and stretchy but not too loose. **Cubbies are available to store any personal belongings you don't want to bring into class.

    Pilates is often practiced with toe sox (socks with grips on the bottom) for traction and safety. You can also take classes barefoot if you prefer.

    Studio shoes (shoes that are not worn outside in our pacific northwest rainy weather) are also welcome on the CoreAlign equipment.

  • Checking in is as easy as a couple of clicks on our self-check-in iPad. Please sign in EVERY TIME you take a class. This helps us keep our records straight and to make sure we’ve entered every name correctly into the system. You would be amazed at how many Nancys there are out there!

  • Once you've signed in, please turn off your cell phone. If you are on call, please have your phone on vibrate.

    Be sure to let your instructor know if you have any injuries, limitations, or concerns so they can accommodate you. Modifications are available for any student who needs them.

    Once you've deposited your personal belongings, make your way to the studio and settle in for your class.

  • Trust Yourself

    Teachers are here to provide a class full of suggestions and recommendations. But some of those suggestions may not feel right for you that day. Never hesitate to take a rest when you need a rest. At The Practice Space we prioritize student agency. You know your body better than anyone else and this is the best environment to put that knowledge into practice.

By far the most effective way to make a change in your movement practice. Choose from yoga + Pilates private sessions, or fluctuate between the two.

Discounted Private Sessions with Trainees

Book a Private Session with a Teacher Trainee or Apprentice

FREE STUDENT SESSION: Prior to certification, teacher training studnts are required to do free sessions supervised by an staff educator. The FREE sessions can be booked online and require registration for The Practice Space studio. Be a volunteer to help our pre-professional teacher trainers learn how to work one on one with clients. You get to learn and so do they… its a win win. Please register as if you were paying, our trainees book their time around each volunteer hour and it can be very sad when a volunteer no shows. You will receive confirmation calls as a reminder.

DISCOUNTED APPRENTICE SESSIONS: After graduation, teachers are accepted into an apprenticeship program where they can work while still under the guidance and education of the studio and staff. These sessions are with a certified practitioner, the student has passed all necessary requirements, but are discounted to $60 as a path for the teacher to start their professional career in teaching.
